American Folk Art Museum - The American Folk Art Museum has existed in various forms, and at various locations, since it was founded in 1961. The museum opened in its permanent location on West 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan (New York City, USA) on December 11, 2001.
Fraktur (Pennsylvania German folk art) - In the United States, Fraktur is used to describe highly artistic and elaborate 18th century and 19th century illuminated folk art drawings created by the Pennsylvania Dutch (perhaps more strictly Pennsylvania Deitsch or Pennsylvanian German). Most Fraktur were created between 1740 and 1860.
